It features 2 Sweat Unions, one on the inlet side and one on the outlet side, both of which are designed for 1″ CTS (Copper Tubing Size) Pipe. This Valve is made of User friendly lead free brass for safe potable water applications in both commercial and residential installations. The purpose of this valve is to reduce the inlet pressure to a lower outlet pressure. Water pressure that is too high has been known to cause both water hammering (a loud rattle from the pipes inside the walls when water is turned off or on), and pipe and fitting damage resulting in water leaks and even blow outs. This 70XLDUC 1″ Lead Free Pressure Reducing Valve is safe to use in both hot and cold water applications and features a reinforced diaphragm for lasting durability and a balance piston design for smooth operation that is responsive to changes in flow and pressure fluctuations.
